Screen digital-asset transfers in real time and hold sanctioned hits

Policy reference

Sanctions / OFAC policy, §3.2

Office of Foreign Assets Control regulations, 31 CFR Chapter V
Requirement

Every inbound and outbound digital-asset transaction is screened in real time against wallet addresses associated with OFAC-designated persons. A hit is held before settlement where the payment flow permits, the AML Compliance Officer is notified the same business day, the sponsor bank is notified within one hour of the Officer becoming aware, and the sponsor bank decides whether to block, freeze, and report. The screening configuration is aligned with the sponsor bank’s standards before launch and after any change.

Trigger

Continuous

Every digital-asset transaction as it is initiated; alerts the same business day

Action

Keep real-time screening on every rail, hold each alert before settlement, notify the Officer and then the sponsor bank on the clocks, and record the bank’s decision.

Transaction, address, exposure detail, time raised

  • Hold and notification log
